ESIWENI LODGE
South Africa
Esiweni luxury safari lodge is a hidden jewel in one of the most beautiful private reserves in South Africa. It all started when a French couple decided to move from Paris to South Africa to start this great adventure, which is a superb traditional luxury lodge with the French savoir vivre.
Here, one will enjoy the peace and serenity of the great outdoors, comfort and privacy in one’s suite, dining under the stars, gazing out over the world from your panoramic terrace overlooking the Sunday River and encounter the “big five” accompanied by one’s own Ranger.
It is a unique experience in the heart of the Zulu land with one’s family or friends, conveniently located only 3 ½ hours by car from the International Airport of Johannesburg.
Nambiti (where the lodge is situated)is the only reserve in the region, which in addition to the Big Five, supports more than 40 other animal species including the black rhinoceros and the cheetah, not to mention 280 + species of birds. It is situated in the heart of the battlefield of the war between the British, the Boers and the Zulus. The commemorative monument of the Battle of Elandslaagte is at the entrance of the reserve and ruins of the military hospital can be found on the property.
The reserve is only one hour from Drakensberg Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which offers many activities such as hiking, rafting, horseback riding, biking, 4 x 4, fly fishing and boating.
